Shipments of tablet computers in China rose 4.3 percent to nearly 30 million units in 2024 over the previous year, but fourth-quarter shipments declined by 3.7 percent due to high inventory levels, according to data from IDC.

The mainland market delivered 29.85 million and 7.86 million units for 2024 and the fourth quarter respectively, the report said.

Huawei dominated sales with a market share of 32 percent – up 5.8 percentage points year-on-year – followed by Apple with 26.6 percent share.

However, Huawei's market share in the fourth quarter fell by 3 percentage points to 27.8 percent.
